In this video you can observe a rotifer belonging to the genus Euchlanis, which swims with the help of a ciliated structure, placed in the oral region, as well as with the help of the foot from the rear end. As it moves, it feeds with various organic waste, including bacteria which are sucked in the vortex created by the cilia of the oral apparatus. In this video you can also notice the appearance of a ciliate (from the Kingdom Protista), most probably belonging to the genus Euplotes.
