Using a pipette, I took a sample from a recipient with water and aquarium plants. I placed the drop of water on a slide and covered it in an angle of 45 degrees with a cover glass in order not to form air bubbles. In the image above you can observe a rotifer, an animal of microscopic dimensions, which feeds with other microscopic organisms which it catches with a ciliated structure placed on his head, called the corona, and which it also uses for locomotion. The rotifer's foot ends with two toes which contain adhesive glands and which help the animal attach itself onto a substratum the moment it finds a rich food source.
